7 Sparkling Tips to Start Your New Year | Pinay.com
Hey, 2015 just called. He’s excited to meet the fabulous new you. He said it’s going to be an exciting and fruitful year filled with love and abundance. But, how do you prepare for your date with 2015? Here are seven get-fabulous tips for the New Year.
Tip 1: Be bold
This is the year to be more daring. If you’re not really fond of wearing high-heels, now is the time to try out those sexy red pumps. It may sound a little superficial, but you’d be surprised how sexy shoes or red lipstick can boost your mood and confidence instantly. Find an excuse to wear them.
Tip 2: Scrub the past away
Slough off the negativity of the past year with an exfoliating treatment. By buffing the dead skin away, you’re speeding up your skin’s renewal process and unclogging your pores, giving you soft glowing skin. The process of exfoliation can also be an inward cleansing process. As you feel your dead skin being sloughed off, imagine the bad vibes of the past year being washed off as well, giving you a clean slate to start anew. If you can’t afford a luxurious spa treatment, try making your own. For a nourishing scrub, mix a teaspoon of sugar, a half teaspoon of honey, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Make an invigorating scrub using a tablespoon of coffee grounds mixed with a tablespoon of olive oil. A soothing oatmeal scrub is made with a tablespoon of ground oatmeal, a quarter of a teaspoon of salt, and a teaspoon of olive oil.
Tip 3: Cleansing your temple
You’re licensed to binge on Christmas, but by the end of the year, it may be a good idea to get rid of the traces of lechon in your system. There is a long list of cleansing diets out there, and choosing the right one for you can be tricky. Starving yourself is not the way to go, although some say fasting for a few days can help regenerate your body. It’s best to consult your doctor, especially if you have any medical conditions. And really, the best way to go is with lots of water and fresh fruits.
Tip 4: Forgive and forget
This is the time to forgive the past, those who have wronged you, and most of all, yourself. If you’ve made some major mistakes, cut yourself some slack and know that 2015 is forgiving and is willing to give you a second chance. Banish all ugly thoughts. And while the act of making amends with people you’ve had a falling out with is a great way to start, this may be the time to reevaluate your friendships. They say it is never a good idea to burn bridges, but it will do you good to surround yourself with people who uplift you. Steer clear of people who only bring negativity in your life.
Tip 5: Declutter and organize
You’ve probably done some serious shopping, so it’s only right that you make room for your new purchases. It’s time to toss out stuff that you haven’t worn or used for the past few years. Check for expired food items, medicine, and make up. Make room for more blessings in your life by clearing out closets, drawers, and your heart. Organize your desk to encourage more productivity. While you’re at it, you may want to clean your inboxes too. It’s time to delete emails and messages that only take up memory space. This is also the time to clear credit. Make a plan to pay off all your debt before the end of the year if possible.
Tip 6: Groom to bloom
Treat yourself to a salon day. Get your hair and nails done. If you’re not ready to shorn your long locks off, at least get a trim to make your hair look healthy. As with cleansing, the act of cutting off dry split ends can be symbolical. And remember that it’s just hair. It will grow back if you’re not too happy with your new ‘do. This new year is also the time to get a deep facial. In fact, go see a dermatologist and have those warts removed.
Tip 7: See the world
Make plans to explore the world. Life is too short; if you don’t start now, when will you ever get to see the world and experience new things? If you don’t have a passport yet, applying for one is a great way to start the new year. This way, you’re ready for anything. The world can mean your backyard, so if you don’t have the budget for airfare, make it a point still to go out often—literally. Take a walk or go on a road trip every now and then.
You and 2015 will have the most wonderful time together if you meet him with an open and grateful heart. And even if you break your New Year’s resolutions, there is good news: every day is a chance to start anew.
