pin@ys are innovators and compassionate leaders who rocks the bangkas! to overcome challenges with great resilience and take action in what must be done for the fellow kapwa. i know this because my mom, adelia amoguis cahambing, is a pinay bisayan and she passed this on to her children and we hope to pass it on to our children’s children.

  2. We are proud of our birth but we don’t act as if we are the center of the universe. We do not judge just because we think our skin is of a nice hue. In fact, we do not try to box and treat people according to their color, gender, religion, political affiliation, or status in life. Our pride comes from knowing that we are a part of a beautiful universe where unity amid diversity thrives and where every person, rich or poor, man or woman, Pinay or otherwise, is valued. That, to me, is the essence of a true Pinay: proud of her birth but respectful of and embraces others’ colors and cultures.

I am a proud Pinay but more than that, I am a child of the Universe, a sister of all, a global citizen whose skin color and nationality are not necessarily better than others.

  3. Pinays are unique creation of God. We have the gift of beauty, strength, love, kindness and intelligence that are distinct and exceptional.

We do not need to shout these gifts from God to be recognized by others, our actions and accomplishments are enough to be valued in the whole world.

    -Janile Nalzaro

One of the most fascinating secrets of a pinay’s beauty is the smile we share to everyone that uplifts not only ourselves, but also the loneliest person in the world. As the saying goes, one smile can change a life…and we, Filipinos, have probably changed millions. This is why I’m proud to be Pinay and represent my country wherever I go–to show love, care, and happiness through one heartwarming smile.

  5. My family is so loving and supportive. My people are beautiful, creative, and resilient.
